These are some of my favorite racetracks. Some have Web sites, some don't.
Wherever possible, I have included contact information and maps. Most of
these are local tracks for me; since I live in the Baltimore, Maryland
area, most are within a reasonable drive from me.
About 45 miles north of Baltimore, near the PA/DE/MD lines, off I-95.
Friday night test and tune is usually 15 bucks except when there is a special event, when it's a bit more.
A fun track, decent surface, great prices and within easy reach after rush
hour.
MIR has hands down the best surface in the state of Maryland. Repaved recently, I LOVE racing here.
30 miles south of DC
This track sucks. They open late, close early. They charge a lot for what they offer. Their bathrooms are a disgrace, food is even worse. The track is never prepared and it always takes them forever to get something cleaned up.
Far worse than this is the attitude of the loser who owns the track, Jim Cunningham. Incredibly rude, and couldn't give a damn about the customers at his track. Buddy of mine broke down there, and was basically told by Cunningham, "I don't give a f%^$ if your trailer is 5 minutes away, push that piece of c@#! out the gates into the street." This attitude is intolerable, and this track would be better served if the owner would stay away and let the competent, decent folks in his family run the track.
My take: Spend a few minutes going further south to MIR, north to Cecil, or even head west to Hagerstown but don't waste your hard earned racing dollars at this track.
